A working family farm · Est. 2005

Fed by the land. Raised by family.
Shared with friends.

For two decades we've been raising beef and pork the slow way at the foot of the Vermilion Cliffs, growing what our table needs and sharing the rest with the people who care where their food comes from.

A note from our family

We didn't set out to start a brand. We just wanted to feed our community well.

In 2005, we put a few cattle on a quiet stretch of grass south of the cliffs. We learned by the seasons. We made plenty of mistakes. The neighbors started asking for a roast, then a dozen eggs, then a hog for the freezer. Twenty years later the farm still runs at family scale. Every animal still has a name. And the door is still open.

Self-sufficiency is something we'll always be working toward, never something we'll finish. That's the part we love.

How we farm

Three things we
won't compromise.

Twenty years of getting it wrong, getting it right, and writing down what worked. Here's what stays.

The animals come first.

Open air, shade, water, calm handling. No feedlots, no growth promoters, and no rushing the seasons. Healthy animals make better food. Full stop.

The land has to outlive us.

Compost from our own herd. Cover crops on the garden ground. We borrow this place from the next generation; we'd like to hand it back better than we got it.

You can come see for yourself.

The gate isn't locked. Call ahead, bring your kids, walk the farm. Transparency isn't a marketing word for us. It's how we'd want to buy our own food.

What our customers say

The same families come back every year.

★★★★★
"I bought a half last year and we just finished the last of the bacon. Best pork I've ever had. Already on the list for the next round."
— Megan H., Hurricane, UT
★★★★★
"The cut sheet was easy. They actually called me to walk through it. I felt like I was buying from a friend, not a website. Pork is incredible."
— Jared S., St. George, UT
★★★★★
"We split a whole hog with my parents. Ate better than ever. The bacon alone is worth it. Sausage is the best thing in our freezer."
— Karen B., Centennial Park, AZ
We don't aspire to be the biggest farm in Arizona. We just want to be the one our customers tell their grandkids about. The Family at Sunset Farms
Keep in Touch

A short letter
once in a while.

What came out of the field this week, what's running low, a recipe we love, and maybe the occasional photo of the chickens. Nothing else.
